Dean Newton is a professional UK guitarist (graduating from London College of Music in 2011 with a BMus Hons degree) and guitar teacher based in Cumbria.
Regularly performing in multiple projects of varying musical styles (Secure Unit, AWOL and the Marcangelo Jazz collective), working as a solo performer and Theatre Orchestra pit work, Dean Newton also manages to blend, and deliver, his love of blues, rock, jazz and funk with the Dean Newton Trio.
The band features three highly experienced pro musicians creating a sound unmistakably their own, as can be heard on their 2018 album ‘DNT.’
Dean Newton - Guitar and Vocals.
Dean has studied under some of the most highly respected guitarists in the world. His playing style is very modern yet rooted in the traditions of Jazz and blues; it’s also diversified enough to be heard to great effect on the self-titled 2017 album by rock-metal band Necromandus.
Dean is a proud endorser & artist for Tokai Guitars.
John Marcangelo - Drums.
After attending Leeds College of Music John moved to London where he worked with composer Cornelius Cardew; he later formed the band Violinski with Mik Kaminski of E.L.O (making the UK Top 20 with his composition Clog Dance.
John has many varied writing, performing and session credits to his name, from TV commercials to the late great Allan Holdsworth. He was also a private student of legendary Jazz drummer Philly Joe Jones.
Jeff Barnes - Bass.
Jeff has been playing bass for over forty years and in that time has toured all over the world with different ensembles, both independently and as part of the band on luxury cruise liners.
His playing style is influenced by the late and revered Jaco Pastorius among others, fused with his own unmistakeable sound.
