Belfast born Brian Rawson was a member of The Tearjerkers who toured with Thin Lizzy, Dexy’s Midnight Runners, Doll by Doll and Rachel Sweet.
Brian relocated to London where he played guitar on Jim Lyttle's demos with Jimmy Bain (Rainbow/ Wild Horses/Dio) producing and playing bass on the track ‘Rough, Tough & Pretty Too’ in the band that would eventually become Rogue Male. Brian then emigrated to the US where, most notably, he played guitar on American singer songwriter Jon Lacabanne's album ‘Amen,’ recorded all the guitars on Deidre Cunningham's album ‘Sunny Days’ and played a one-off gig in Nashville with “Handsome” Mick Rowe's band, Nineteen88. He then returned to the UK where he joined Sweet for a tour.
Prior to forming the Brian Rawson Band, the noted guitarist was a member of The Lynsey Dolan Band (co-writing the track 'Do Right Man') and played all the guitars on Emma Jane's ‘Red shoes’ EP.
The Brian Rawson Band have been a staple of the Scottish blues rock scene for a number of years and have featured notable vocalists Greig Taylor (solo, Blind Lemon Gators, GT’s Blues Combo) and Peter Scallan (Moritz, Chris Glen’s Outfit) in their ranks. The band, with a new line-up ready to go in 2019, are looking to release what will be their debut album later this year.
“With a set that carries both tasty originals and classic blues covers (such as their excellent rendition of ‘Sitting On Top of the World’) the Brian Rawson Band continue to reinforce their credentials with solid live performances.”
